Kindergarten Connection

Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa

                         Last Week

If you are able, please send your assigned item Gingerbread item to school on Monday. I will be shopping for any needed items a

items after school. You can also let me know if you are sending your item on Tuesday so I don't pick up unneeded things..

There is still time to get those Christmas trees in. They decorate our hallway so beautifully 🎄.

Our class sizes has had some changes the last couple of weeks. Our Jaycion went to a different class and we are getting a new student on Monday. We are happy to welcome Ian to our class and look forward to helping him to feel welcomed.

Our class size is 25 children again now 😊.

Lately several students are coming to school without water bottles. I give them a cup but it must stay by the sink (which means students have to get up to get a drink when needed). A water bottle allows them to take a drink quickly, without disruption to self and others during our learning time. Please send a water bottle to school each day. You may even leave one at school if that is easier for you. Thank you!

We also must have shoes to change into each day when boots are needed. In case of emergency, we can not allow children to be in socks only during our school day. You are welcome to leave a pair of shoes here during the winter for this reason. This is not necessary, but is encouraged.

Many of the children have a large, plastic bag (ie. Aldi, TJMaxx, Meijer, etc.) to keep their snow gear in. This saves the worry of losing items and allows a quick transition from outside to inside. It would be helpful if all students brought a bag like this.

Snack and Leaders

Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

We have a child with a nut allergy in our class so please refrain from sending snacks with nuts of any kind.

We will snack in the morning each day. Sending 1 snack is plenty as our lunch time is later in the day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.
