Kindergarten Connection

Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa

                      Last Week

We were able to finish both sections of the NWEA tests last week. Our students worked hard and did their bests.

I hope y'all enjoyed the snow day on Thursday. I loved hearing that most got outside and enjoyed the day. By afternoon, it was perfect snow play weather!

Please remember to --

  • Send a leak-proof, water bottle each day.
  • Dress your child for the weather of the day-snow pants, boots, hat and mittens.
  • Send shoes each day to change into for inside time (leaving a pair at school is fine).
  • Empty your child's folder each day.
  • Return Library books by Wednesday of each week.
  • Wear gym shoes each Friday for gym class.

Snack and Leaders

Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates. I will place the monthly calendars in the folders for your reference.

We have 25 children in our class.

We have a child with a nut allergy in our class so please refrain from sending snacks with nuts of any kind.

We will snack in the morning each day. Sending 1 snack is plenty as our lunch time is later in the day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.

Next Week Events

Enjoy the day off tomorrow for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Tuesday, 1/20, we will go to the Upton Planetarium. Be sure to ask your child to tell you all about it.

Our next guest reader will be Mrs. Zuhl (Ari's Grandma)  on Wednesday, January 21. Please come at 3:15 with 3-4 of your favorite books. We will see you then 😀.

Friday, 1/23, we are having Emmett Twomey, a Meteorologist from ABC 57, come to tell us about how he does his job. This pairs beautifully with our Weather theme in Language Arts. I hope to share some pictures of his time with us.
