                      Last Week


Our Planetarium trip was a huge success. Be sure to ask your child to tell you about it.


For those who attended the Science Fair on Tuesday night, I'm sure you enjoyed your time. What a nice mixture of activities there were for our students and families to learn from. Thank you to the many who worked to make this happen!


We had a school wide Tornado drill on Thursday afternoon. The children did a very good job of following directions and taking this time seriously. We learned in a video that these should be practiced at home as well.

We have a child with a nut allergy in our class so please refrain from sending snacks with nuts of any kind.

We will snack in the morning each day. Sending 1 snack is plenty as our lunch time is later in the day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  

Next Week Events


Our Positivity Project trait is -Humility-I think about other people before I think about myself.


Our next Guest Readers, part of the girls' soccer team, will be coming on Wednesday afternoon. We love meeting

 the kids, hearing their stories and especially our question and answer time. 


This week we begin Unit 7 in Math which revolves around 2-D and 3-D shapes. The 2-D shapes we need to master are square, triangle, rectangle, Circle and Hexagon.

The 3-D shapes we will master are cube, sphere, cone and cylinder.  


We have no school on Friday as we begin our Spring Break! 

Enjoy your time together over break. I will look forward to seeing my kiddos on Monday, April 6!

Friday, May 15th-Heston Train Museum in LaPorte, IN. We are SO excited about this trip! All of the kindergarten classes

in the district will be there together which will be really fun. More information will follow as the day approaches.

Our kiddos did a nice job of staying focused and following directions. This is strictly a baseline and also a first for these students. We will take the Math piece next week. The results will come home with progress reports at the end of the Trimester. It has been fun getting the hang of Table and Math Centers in our room. The children are making good choices and enjoying the experiences. Table centers reinforce skills from any of our curriculum areas.   Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa                               Last Week If you are able, please send your assigned item Gingerbread item to school on Monday. I will be shopping for any needed items a items after school. You can also let me know if you are sending your item on Tuesday so I don't pick up unneeded things.. There is still time to get those Christmas trees in. They decorate our hallway so beautifully 🎄. Our class sizes has had some changes the last couple of weeks. Our Jaycion went to a different class and we are getting a new student on Monday. We are happy to welcome Ian to our class and look forward to helping him to feel welcomed.  Our class size is 25 children again now 😊.     Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa                            Last Week My goodness the end of the year has come so quickly. The students have been anxious to help with packing up and cleaning the room. I can't speak to what happens at home, but each one of them is very helpful and great at cleaning and organizing. It has been fun working as a team getting our room ready for summer! Step Up Day was a big hit on Thursday. Our class spent 15 ish minutes with Mrs. Brown and 15 in Mrs. Miller's class. They got a small taste of what 1st grade will be like.  Ask your child what he/she learned about 1st grade.  Summer Reading Challenge information went home with the Book Bonanza books.
