I hope you all had a restful, fun time with family over our spring break. I look forward to seeing all my kiddos and hearing the stories.

We have a child with a nut allergy in our class so please refrain from sending snacks with nuts of any kind.

We will snack in the morning each day. Sending 1 snack is plenty as our lunch time is later in the day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  

Next Week Events


Our Positivity Project trait is -Forgiveness-I show kindness to others even if they do not show kindness to me.


During our Math time we are reviewing 2-D shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, hexagon) and learning how to identify and describe 3-D shapes (cube, sphere, cone, cylinder). 



Our next Guest Reader will be Mrs. Ridenour coming on Wednesday, April 8 at 3:15. Please bring 3-4 of your favorite books to share with us.

Mileage Club Returns April 13


Mileage Club will take place Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday the week of April 13th and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the week of April 20th during lunch recess. Students will have the opportunity to get active by running or walking around the track and earning fun charms! The classrooms (K-2nd and 3rd-5th) with the highest lap count at the end of the two-week period will celebrate with an ice cream party and be awarded a mileage club trophy. Please wear running shoes on mileage club days and bring your necklace (received in the fall) to school.


Friday, May 15th-Heston Train Museum in LaPorte, IN. We are SO excited about this trip! All of the kindergarten classes

in the district will be there together which will be really fun. More information will follow as the day approaches.

Our kiddos did a nice job of staying focused and following directions. This is strictly a baseline and also a first for these students. We will take the Math piece next week. The results will come home with progress reports at the end of the Trimester. It has been fun getting the hang of Table and Math Centers in our room. The children are making good choices and enjoying the experiences. Table centers reinforce skills from any of our curriculum areas.   Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa                               Last Week If you are able, please send your assigned item Gingerbread item to school on Monday. I will be shopping for any needed items a items after school. You can also let me know if you are sending your item on Tuesday so I don't pick up unneeded things.. There is still time to get those Christmas trees in. They decorate our hallway so beautifully 🎄. Our class sizes has had some changes the last couple of weeks. Our Jaycion went to a different class and we are getting a new student on Monday. We are happy to welcome Ian to our class and look forward to helping him to feel welcomed.  Our class size is 25 children again now 😊.     Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa                            Last Week My goodness the end of the year has come so quickly. The students have been anxious to help with packing up and cleaning the room. I can't speak to what happens at home, but each one of them is very helpful and great at cleaning and organizing. It has been fun working as a team getting our room ready for summer! Step Up Day was a big hit on Thursday. Our class spent 15 ish minutes with Mrs. Brown and 15 in Mrs. Miller's class. They got a small taste of what 1st grade will be like.  Ask your child what he/she learned about 1st grade.  Summer Reading Challenge information went home with the Book Bonanza books.
