                      Last Week


It was great to be back together again this week. We enjoyed sharing how we spent our time off. We realized that we really missed each other. 😌 The class did a great job getting right back into the swing of our daily routines and procedures. They are acting like 1st graders more and more each day. 😃

We have a child with a nut allergy in our class so please refrain from sending snacks with nuts of any kind.

We will snack in the morning each day. Sending 1 snack is plenty as our lunch time is later in the day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  

Next Week Events


Our Positivity Project trait is -Leadership-I encourage others to do their bests.


Our Spring Mileage Club will be held the weeks of April 13th and April 20th on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Please have your child bring back his/her charm necklace in order to add new charms to the collection. New necklaces may be purchased for $1 if needed.


We will begin our last ELA Module for the year this week, Trees. Our Trains workbook came home on Friday. Be sure to have
your child talk you through the pages.

On Tuesday and Thursday of this week we are hosting pre-school/pre-kindergarten classes from the YMCA for tours of Brown.
It is a great opportunity to introduce incoming students to our school. It is also fun for our students to be "the big kids" while
showing them around and telling them how we do school.

We get to see the 5th grade program on Wednesday afternoon. Be sure to ask your child about it.


Our next Guest Reader will be Mr. Golder coming on Wednesday, April 15 at 3:15. Please bring 3-4 of your favorite books to share with us. 


Upcoming Events


Friday, May 15th-Heston Train Museum in LaPorte, IN. We are SO excited about this trip! All of the kindergarten classes

in the district will be there together which will be really fun. I sent emails this morning regarding this trip. Please let me know if

you have questions.

Our kiddos did a nice job of staying focused and following directions. This is strictly a baseline and also a first for these students. We will take the Math piece next week. The results will come home with progress reports at the end of the Trimester. It has been fun getting the hang of Table and Math Centers in our room. The children are making good choices and enjoying the experiences. Table centers reinforce skills from any of our curriculum areas.   Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa                               Last Week If you are able, please send your assigned item Gingerbread item to school on Monday. I will be shopping for any needed items a items after school. You can also let me know if you are sending your item on Tuesday so I don't pick up unneeded things.. There is still time to get those Christmas trees in. They decorate our hallway so beautifully 🎄. Our class sizes has had some changes the last couple of weeks. Our Jaycion went to a different class and we are getting a new student on Monday. We are happy to welcome Ian to our class and look forward to helping him to feel welcomed.  Our class size is 25 children again now 😊.     Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa                            Last Week My goodness the end of the year has come so quickly. The students have been anxious to help with packing up and cleaning the room. I can't speak to what happens at home, but each one of them is very helpful and great at cleaning and organizing. It has been fun working as a team getting our room ready for summer! Step Up Day was a big hit on Thursday. Our class spent 15 ish minutes with Mrs. Brown and 15 in Mrs. Miller's class. They got a small taste of what 1st grade will be like.  Ask your child what he/she learned about 1st grade.  Summer Reading Challenge information went home with the Book Bonanza books.
