Friday, May 15th-Important Hesston Train Museum Information


*We will leave school at 9:00 and return at 2:00.

*All students need water bottles.

*School is providing sack lunches for the students. If you informed me that you are sending a lunch, it must be in a paper sack.

*Dress children appropriate for the weather. We will go rain or shine.

Happy Mother's Day to all our wonderful Moms! I hope it has been a great day for you all with your families. 


Our students did a nice job with the ELA NWEA assessment last week. I appreciate their hard work on this.

We have a child with a nut allergy in our class so please refrain from sending snacks with nuts of any kind.

We will snack in the morning each day. Sending 1 snack is plenty as our lunch time is later in the day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.

Our Positivity Project trait is -Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence-I see the beauty in the world around me and pay attention to cool stuff people do (I paraphrased 😊).


Tuesday, May 12-Donuts with Someone Special @ 7:45 am


We will take our final Math NWEA test on Wednesday, 5/13. I can't wait to see the growth of our kiddos 😊. 


Please return all Library books on Wednesday. As you might guess, inventory is quite a job and they need to get started.

Wednesday, May13-Book Bonanza at Brown's Gym from 4-6:00 pm

Students come with their parents to choose several books to add to home libraries. A generous grant makes this

possible for all SJ students.


Our next Guest Reader will be Mrs. Green coming on Wednesday, May 13 at 3:15. Please bring 3-4 of your favorite books to share with us.

Our kiddos did a nice job of staying focused and following directions. This is strictly a baseline and also a first for these students. We will take the Math piece next week. The results will come home with progress reports at the end of the Trimester. It has been fun getting the hang of Table and Math Centers in our room. The children are making good choices and enjoying the experiences. Table centers reinforce skills from any of our curriculum areas.   Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa                               Last Week If you are able, please send your assigned item Gingerbread item to school on Monday. I will be shopping for any needed items a items after school. You can also let me know if you are sending your item on Tuesday so I don't pick up unneeded things.. There is still time to get those Christmas trees in. They decorate our hallway so beautifully 🎄. Our class sizes has had some changes the last couple of weeks. Our Jaycion went to a different class and we are getting a new student on Monday. We are happy to welcome Ian to our class and look forward to helping him to feel welcomed.  Our class size is 25 children again now 😊.     Kindergarten Connection Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa                            Last Week My goodness the end of the year has come so quickly. The students have been anxious to help with packing up and cleaning the room. I can't speak to what happens at home, but each one of them is very helpful and great at cleaning and organizing. It has been fun working as a team getting our room ready for summer! Step Up Day was a big hit on Thursday. Our class spent 15 ish minutes with Mrs. Brown and 15 in Mrs. Miller's class. They got a small taste of what 1st grade will be like.  Ask your child what he/she learned about 1st grade.  Summer Reading Challenge information went home with the Book Bonanza books.
